As I was laying in bed this morning, seeing the smokey skies I started thinking about grief. As we are battling & experiencing the wildfires in California I am aware that we are experiencing more than trauma. We are grieving. We are grieving the loss of our home, family, friends, animals, & community. We are flooded with images of what is happening in Butte County & Southern California & are triggered by memories of last fall's devastating fires. I am feeling overwhelmed with the news of those they have identified as lost & realize that the number will continue to grow. So, I want to remind everyone that it is important to be kind to ourselves & each. Please remember to take of yourself! We are yet again at the beginning of the grieving process but I am confident we can & will get through this.
I have included some articles about grief & trauma. I also included an article about self-care ideas. I hope you find this hopeful!
